About Us
What's in a name?
When naming my business, I wanted it to mean something more than just paper. So I looked to the women in my life that mean so much to me - who instilled the etiquette of writing a thank you note and the beautiful simplicity of a monogram - to find a name that would suit my new venture. These women were all named Fontaine and Maury. In a distinctly southern tradition to pass on family names (of some unusual nature) for a distinctly southern family, my grandmothers, mother, aunt, sister and were all given the names Fontaine and Maury.

My grandmother, Maury Tice Flowers was a gracious hostess who entertained often. As a child, I remember fine dinners at her home Merrily Plantation with finger bowls for each guest and individual pots de crème for desert. It is my mother, Fontaine Maury Flowers McFadden, who was the most influential to my study of art. And so, in tribute and appreciation to a woman I thank every day for her manners, talent, and education, I found the name for my company and my continued inspiration.
