I am a stationery designer by trade and a celebrated hostess by reputation. Even boys have been known to have fun at one of my baby showers! I am known for my love for entertaining, my dedication to good, yet unfussy, manners, and my southern training on subjects like how to behave like a lady and drink martinis at the same time.

I've had personalized stationery since practically before I could write and my own engraved calling cards since my early teen years. When my creative instincts went from art classes in college to an MFA in graphic design from the Savannah College of Art and Design, I naturally looked to paper as my medium of choice.

After completing my MFA at SCAD, I began my career as a graphic designer at an advertising agency and then moved on to work with national paper leader Frances Meyer to launch their scrapbook line. When I became Stationery Brand Manager in 1999 the firm was doing $3 million in stationery sales based on the marketing direction, designs and concepts I oversaw. After the firm was bought and segmented off, I decided it was time for a change, a big one…

I took a detour, moved to Wyoming, and eventually settled back in my family's hometown of Thomasville, Georgia. For my muses, I looked to the four generations of southern women whose wisdom and civility had been passed on to me so well - who taught me to be gracious, to write thank you notes, to always put a napkin in my lap. At my first stationery show in 2003 I debuted Fontaine Maury as a wholesale stationery purveyor and took on 75 of retailers in our first outing.
